A new asphalt driveway is a complete build, not just a layer of blacktop. When we install residential asphalt paving in Toronto, every job includes excavation of the existing surface and soft soil, grading to establish proper drainage slope, and a compacted granular base sized for your soil. On top of that base we lay hot-mix asphalt in one or two lifts, then compact it with a roller so it locks into a dense, water-resistant surface.
